What is coaching?
And why you should have one

Coaching has evolved from the world of sport and now emcompases a wide range of styles from life coaching on personal & career issues to business coaching covering the art & science of running a business.

Consider that top sportsmen & women have one or more coaches. These coaches aren't supposed to be better than the player, they are there to help spot areas for improvement that, because the sports person is too close to the action they may not spot. The coach holds the player accountable to themselves to perform as best they can. A coach seeks out the very best resources and constantly looks for new techniques that can help.

So it is with a business coach. Someone who will look objectively at what is going on and help you to think about what could be done even better.

Imagine having someone you can call on to talk about your business who has only your success at heart, who has no hidden agenda, who has a wealth of experience and contacts, someone who can lighten the load and act as a sounding board. Someone who can challenge you to drive your business forward to even greater success. This is the support a coach can provide.

It is worth noting what coaching is not. It is not consulting, we don't tell you what to do, we guide. It is not counselling, we ask you to move toward a better future rather than away from a difficult past. We will listen but we want you to go forward, not whallow in the past. It is not mentoring, we are not village elders dispensing wisdom, we are facilitiators sharing knowledge. Finally it is not a certainty of an improved future if you do not fully embrace all the posibilities of change and commit to the work that will be required. We can't do it for you. We can only support you on your journey.
